Visioning at University Health Network

We recently facilitated a visioning session with the Nephrology Unit of Toronto's University Health Network to help them identify priorities over the coming three years for an already successful and innovative program. This is the beginning of a longer-term planning process for this dedicated group, and all indications are that they'll be moving forward from a solid start.

Instructional Design at WSIAT

We've just completed delivering a new Instructional Design workshop to employees of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal in Toronto. The workshop has been developed to help participants follow a practical process - based on proven adult learning principles - to create and lead training sessions that engage participants while achieving results. "One challenge we faced with the program was to compress a fair amount of theory and application into a two-day workshop," said Chris Hutcheson, who facilitated the workshop. "Participant's feedback indicates we were, on the overall, successful." Here's a sampling of participants' comments:

"I have a much better understanding of how to structure training and what to consider."

"This will be very helpful. A lot of great tools provided! A good balance between theory and application"

Strategic Planning at the Ontario Association of Archers

We recently worked with the Ontario Association of Archers to help them develop strategies for dealing with a significant growth in interest in the sport of archery.

During this dynamic one-day session we worked with a group of coaches to help them identify the priorities the organization faced in providing high standards of coaching support to athletes with a wide range of skill and aspirations. We then identified the top issues, and developed more detailed plans to achieve results in those areas.

We've run a number of these sessions in the past few years for sport, public and private organizations, including East Metro Youth Services, SEDERI (South East District Economic Redevelopment Initiative), the Argonaut Rowing Club, Corktown Residents & Business Association and others.
